Terms of service

Last updated October 15, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Proof (“Proof”, “we”) when you use proofissued.com, the Proof apps and the Proof for X extension. By using Proof you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Proof.

1. What Proof does

Proof reads figures from sources you connect (like Stripe, Shopify or Whop) with read-only access, and lets you publish specific claims about them, such as revenue for a closed month. A verified record means the figure matched the connected source when Proof checked it, using the method on our methodology page.

Proof verifies claims, not people. A record is not an audit, a valuation, an endorsement, or financial, legal, tax or investment advice. Revenue is not profit. Don't make decisions on a record alone.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms.
  • Give accurate details and keep your sign-in safe. We recommend two-factor sign-in.
  • You're responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Only connect accounts and businesses you own or are allowed to act for.

3. What you publish

Nothing you connect is public until you publish it. When you publish a record, you choose how the figure is shown (exact, rounded, a threshold or a range), and anyone with the link can see it. You can withdraw a record at any time; links to it then say it was withdrawn.

You keep ownership of your content. You give Proof permission to store, display and share what you publish, including in share cards, embeds, badges and link previews, so the features work.

4. Fair use

Follow our acceptable use policy. In short: no faking, no misleading anyone with a record, no attacking or overloading the service, and no using Proof to harass anyone.

5. Plans and billing

  • Proof has a free plan and paid plans shown on the pricing page. Paying adds room and tools. It never changes whether a number is verified.
  • Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. Payments are handled by Stripe.
  • You can cancel any time from Settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • We'll tell you before a price change applies to you.

6. Connected services

Connections use each provider's own sign-in and terms. You can disconnect a source at any time from your workspace, and Proof then deletes the stored keys for it. We aren't responsible for outages or changes at those providers.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account in Settings → Your data. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other people at risk. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.

8. No warranty

Proof is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or online. Source data can be late, wrong or changed by the provider.

9. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Proof isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Proof in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can't be waived.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. Using Proof after that means you accept the new terms.
