How Proof checks a number

Proof reads your numbers where they live, checks one number for one period with a public method, and shows only what you choose.

    Review what's supported

Pick a finished month and see the calculation, coverage and limits. Connecting alone verifies nothing.

  3. Publish on your terms

Choose how much to show and share one permanent link. Nothing is public until you say so.

Ways to show a result

Exact, rounded, a threshold like $400K+, a range, just “verified”, or private. The exact value stays separate from what's public.

What each status means

Every status is written out in words. Missing data, out-of-date data and failed reads never count as verified.

  • VerifiedThe data backs up this exact number for the stated period.
  • Verified · over an amountThe data shows more than the published amount. The exact figure stays private.
  • Partially verifiedOnly part of the number is backed up, and the record says which part.
  • PendingStill being checked. Not a verification.
  • UnsupportedWe couldn't confirm this number with the data available.
  • StaleThe result is out of date. A fresh check is needed.
  • RevokedThe source was disconnected or the result withdrawn. Past results are kept, not rewritten.

How strong the data is
How well the data backs up the number.
Coverage
Which accounts, and how much of the period, the data covers.
Who connected it
The owner connected the account. Proof doesn't check legal ownership.

The public method and version used for the check.
Limitations
What the record does not show, said plainly.

What Proof doesn't check

The data has to back up the exact number shown. Nothing more.

  • Profit isn't checkedGross revenue is not profit.
  • Payment volume isn't revenueUnless the data backs up that exact number.
  • Test stores don't countTest-store activity is never verified income.
  • Gaps never passMissing data or a failed read never counts as verified.

Questions

Every result comes from a published, versioned method. See what you can connect →

What does “verified” mean?

Proof read the data at the source, worked out the number with a public method, and the data backs it up for that period. It's about that one number, not a general endorsement of the person or business.

Why not just add my platforms together?

Several platforms can record the same payment. Proof never just adds them up, so nothing is counted twice.

How long does a result last?

Each check records when the source was read and how long the result stays current. A later check replaces the earlier one. Old results are kept and never edited.

Does paying change a result?

No. A number is verified or it isn't, on every plan.
