Acceptable use
Last updated October 15, 2026
Proof only works if people can trust a record. These rules apply to everyone who uses Proof. Breaking them can get records withdrawn and accounts suspended.
Don't fake it
- Don't connect accounts you don't own or aren't allowed to use.
- Don't create fake, wash or round-trip transactions to inflate a figure.
- Don't edit, crop or recreate share cards or badges to show something a record doesn't.
- Don't pretend to be someone else or another business.
Don't mislead
- Don't present a record as profit, an audit, a guarantee of future results, or investment advice.
- Don't use Proof to promote scams, unregistered securities, or “get rich” schemes.
- Don't use a sample or withdrawn record as if it were verified.
Don't abuse the service
- No hacking, probing for weaknesses without permission, or getting around limits. Found a security issue? Report it on our security page.
- No scraping or overloading Proof. Use the developer tools instead.
- No spam, harassment, hate, or sharing other people's private information.
- Nothing illegal.
