Not on Proof yet · Ask for Proof

Three answers. Never a guess.

  1. It matches

A verified record covers that month and that metric, and the number in the post fits it.

  2. Not this claim

They have verified records, but none back this exact number, month or metric.

  3. Not verified yet

No record behind it. That doesn't mean it's false, and you can ask them for Proof in one click.

Post your own numbers with Proof attached.

Attach it while you write

Type a number in a new post and, if one of your verified records matches, the extension offers to add the link.

A Proof mark on your profile

Linked accounts get a small Proof mark by their name, with a link to every verified month.

Private by design.

  • Only linked accounts

A post gets the check only if its author linked that exact X account to Proof with a one-time code.

  • Never guesses

If the month, metric or amount doesn't line up, it says so, even when the claim is real.

  • Only public handles

It looks up public @handles. Never post text, drafts, history or cookies.

  • Runs only on X

It works on x.com and twitter.com, and keeps answers for ten minutes.

Early access.

Proof for X isn't in the Chrome Web Store yet. Until it is, you add it by hand. It takes about a minute.

  1. 1Download

Get the file and unzip it.

  2. 2Open extensions

Go to chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode.

  3. 3Load it

Click “Load unpacked”, pick the folder, then open X.

Questions

Does it read my posts or DMs?

No. It only sends public @handles to look up records. Never post text, drafts, history or cookies.

Why does a real claim show “different period”?

Matching is careful. If the post's month, metric or amount doesn't line up with a verified record, it won't give the check.

How do I get the check on my own posts?

Verify a month on Proof, then link your X account in Settings by posting a one-time code.

Which browsers work?

Chrome, Edge and Brave on desktop.
